Longing

For  GBE2's prompt - Longing

Also linking to dVerse Open Link Night

I close my eyes to see yours
For they caress my soul
In the stillness of the night
Your whispers take control

I know I have been with you
Since the beginning of time
You're elusive I can't reach you
To touch a moment sublime

My eyes they gaze across the sea
I listen with intent
I search each nook and cranny
Until my strength is spent

My heart it longs to be with you
Each day becomes a trial
My soul is restless and distressed
Each step feels like a mile

I close my eyes to see yours
For they pacify my soul
A moment of respite for me
When yearning has a hold.

  1. smiles...it is nice to have that relief, even if only when we close our eyes and see them...feel the restlessness in this...

  7. I read this as a meditation or prayer. There's always that place inside that feels empty.

    1. That's interesting you looked at it as a prayer / meditation. I guess it could be. Thanks.

  8. A respite from yearning, you have found the place and so know the way to get there. It must be a comfort to know it is there when you are in need of comfort.

It is a soothing piece you have written, a respite to be read.

    Cheers!
