Verse First - I cried out
Write in the first person. Avoid cliches; eschew the ordinary. Surprise, inspire, educate, elucidate. That's it.

Wow - Fun with Repetition
your entry has to have one sentence that is repeated at least thrice in your post. You cannot repeat the sentence consecutively.

Why are you so elusive
I cried out, my beloved Lord
My soul it cannot truly live
Without your love and accord

I cannot find you anywhere
I cried out, my beloved Lord
My soul is weary with many a tear
My heart desolate and gored

Please hear my prayer
I cried out, my beloved Lord
For you are my life, and breath and air
For aeons you I have adored

Let me hear your sweet flute
I cried out, my beloved Lord
For that's my guiding star, the route
That makes my spirit soar.

Poetry Jam - Vision  and  G-Man -Friday Flash 55

The vision of You
Is a sight to behold
A beautiful blue
And a halo of gold

I sat in awe
As she described You to me
My soul did soar
You set my spirit free

A moment Divine
Is now etched in my soul
I long for another sign
And your vision to hold.

~x~

  3. I liked both poems, Suzy. Yes, both very spiritual. First poem: Sometimes I wonder too just where the Lord is when I pray. Some days HE seems so far away. And in the second poem: What a wonderful vision this must have been!!!

    1. Thanks Mary. Yes, sometimes I think the Lord is lost in His world. and yes, the vision was astounding - only it was described to me in a reading I had. Now I long to see with my own eyes.

  7. Lovely writing, Suzy, and I love that the crying out, in the first, is to God. The joy of the vision in the second poem is very clear.

    1. Thanks Sherry. These just came to me (yet again), perhaps I was meant to share the Divine vision. I cry out a lot to my beloved Lord in the hope that someday I'll see that vision again, first hand this time.

  8. Thanks Loredana. I try keep the prompts separate but link up the poems. Yes, you understood my poems well - the spirituality, the coupling and the answer to my prayer.

  9. We all go through times when God seems absent, Suzy and you've captured that so well here. The beauty is He's always around!

  10. what a reassurance such a vision might be...and oft when we can not see god it is that they are that much closer you know....

    1. Hi Brian. It is very reassuring. I like your view that we can't see Him because he is that much closer. Now that's even more reassuring. Thanks. :)

  13. The Lord is always there, even when we don't feel him. The first poem reminds me of 'Footprints in the Sand". Sometime the Lord is carrying us and we don't realize it. I know this has happened to me.
And what an awesome vision in your second poem. It reminds me of Mary, in blue with her halo.

  17. I like them both - the cry and the vision. And I think we all cry out at some point in our lives, and the visions are more common than we know - we just don't look for them. Good writing.
